How to Store Your Jigsaw Puzzles: TIPS For Display and Storage

For most puzzle enthusiasts, the biggest headache is probably how to store completed puzzles. Many like to frame their puzzles and hang them on the wall, but the available wall space at home is limited, and frames aren’t cheap either. So overall, it’s neither space-saving nor cost-effective. Framing one or two puzzles to decorate a room is fine, but buying too many frames quickly becomes impractical.

If you skip the frames, the only option left is to glue the puzzles and stack them together. But applying glue is tedious and time-consuming, and stacked puzzles don’t look good; over time, they collect dust and are hard to clean.

Here, we’d like to recommend a storage solution that’s affordable, quick, and easy to manage — our Puzzle Adhesive Backing Storage Set.

Our Puzzle Adhesive Backing Storage Set got 8 adhesive stickers, each can hold a 1000-piece puzzle, and also a plastic bag for storing it. Using the adhesive stickers is much faster than brushing glue, and it keeps the puzzle from falling apart easy.

After stick it, just put the puzzle into the plastic bag. It keeps dust out, and a bit protects from air damage. You can lay it flat or stand it up on a shelf, it looks tidy and easy to grab when you want.

Now, let’s see how to use the Puzzle Adhesive Backing Storage Set step by step.

Tutorial for Using the Puzzle Adhesive Backing Storage Set

1. Open your Puzzle Adhesive Backing Storage Set, and you’ll find 8 adhesive sheets (27 × 19.5 cm) , and 1 large resealable storage bag (60 × 80 cm).

2. The white side is the adhesive surface, while the yellow backing is the protective film.

3. Peel off the yellow protective film and apply the adhesive sticker directly.

4. Next, place the puzzle face down on a flat surface or puzzle board. (For example, you can put the puzzle on one board and cover it with another board to flip it over. There are various ways to turn the puzzle over, so this is just one method.)

5. Next, position the adhesive sheets on the puzzle, planning in advance where each sheet will go. In the example below, a 1000-piece puzzle is shown with five sheets covering most of the surface, leaving just two smaller areas uncovered.

6. Next, make sure the adhesive sheets you’ve placed can contact every puzzle piece.

If they don’t, adjust the spacing manually so that each sheet touches the left and right sides of a piece without lining up exactly with the puzzle edges.

Placing the adhesive directly on the edge could prevent that section from connecting properly with adjacent areas, increasing the risk of pieces coming loose later.

7. After covering the main areas, you’ll need to trim adhesive sheets to fit the remaining blank spaces. Start by placing a sheet over the empty area, determine the required size, and then fold the sheet to match that area.

8. Then, use scissors to cut along the fold line.

9. The trimmed adhesive sheets should look like the example shown below.

10. Repeat the same process for the other blank area.

11. After trimming, place the adhesive sheets in their positions as shown in the illustration.

12. Peel off all the protective films from the adhesive sheets and stick them onto the positions you’ve just marked.

13. After applying the sheets, smooth the surface with your palm to remove any air bubbles. Pay special attention to the edges and corners to ensure the adhesive sticks firmly and doesn’t lift.

14. The applied sheets should look like the illustration above.

If one sheet isn’t perfectly aligned, it’s okay—as long as the puzzle stays intact. Avoid peeling and repositioning, as this could damage the puzzle.

15. Once applied, the puzzle will stay securely together no matter how you handle it, providing excellent adhesion.

16. The image below shows the front of the puzzle after applying the adhesive sheets.

17. Next, take the adhesive seal storage bag and place the puzzle near the bottom of the bag.

18. Peel off the protective film from the adhesive strip.

19. Fold the excess part of the storage bag carefully and seal it with the adhesive strip.

20. The finished puzzle after storage looks like this.
